| I arrived in Scottsdale, Arizona as a travel nurse in October of 2002. My plan was to continue traveling with my dog, Patches and never place roots any where. My intention of staying only 3 months and moving on to my next adventure was shifted after being in the desert for a few weeks. The beauty, the wisdom, and the energy captivated me almost from the beginning. I found myself not wanting to leave. I delayed my next assignment in California for another 3 months. I just could not pull myself away from Arizona. To make a long story short, I began a journey, one I had never anticipated. I enrolled in school for massage therapy, I don't know why, all I knew is that it seemed to be a calling for me. I had received massage in the past for injuries and knew how healing touch was. I had a back injury in the past, and my massage therapist back home really helped with the pain. She became a yoga instructor, she explained that yoga would help relieve the pain. As I started learning yoga,the breathing and meditations involved began a slow stirring of questions. That was the first step on my path, though I was not aware at the time. Thank you Penny for showing and teaching me that breath is life. My travels took me to Durham, North Carolina, I scheduled a massage because my back injury was flaring up again. I met the therapist and she asked me if I wanted to be healed. I said of course, not realizing that what was about to occur would change my life. After the session, which was powerful and very foreign to me, it occurred to me, I was not limping and the pain was gone. That was also very foreign to me. I had been in constant pain for a few years, having only temporary relief from pain blocks and medications, which merely masked the symptoms. Wow, something new to experience. Thinking to myself, this is only temporary, I went about my day. Two weeks later, no limp, no pain, I felt really good. I contacted the therapist again and had another treatment. After that session, I realized, I was healed. I also realized, there was really something to this. More questions came to my mind. The questions began an awakening within me, the need to search for deeper understanding. That therapist became the first of several wonderful teachers and mentors I have met on this path. Thank you Lynette, you are a blessing. While in school, I took REIKI as a requirement, since I chose to specialize in Energy Work. That required class, again changed my life, in a way that words can not describe. This is my healing gift from God. This Divine Energy has become part of me, And I of the energy. Thank you Debra, you are a true Master, teacher, and my friend. Fast forward to where I am today. I continue working as a Hospice nurse in Arizona. I have learned that this is my bigger purpose in life. My Divine Appointment, so to speak. Every person I have worked with in this area has served as both a teacher and student Thanks to each of you. For my patients, I have had the honor to serve, you have, everyone taught me so very much. Thank you for your gifts of life you leave us all with. When I am not on duty as a nurse, I work with clients, providing massage and energy work. I am blessed to know and work with some wonderful, talented therapist and healers. Thanks ya'll for being who you are. I am grateful for each person whom I have learned from, taught and touched along my way. Patches, Thank you for being my best friend. You are my most joyous gift from God. Maria, My friend, and sister in spirit, you are terrific. Thanks for your lessons, your light, and your friendship. Ann, thank you for being in my world. To D>E> my very special friend, you have taught me so very much, I will hold you in my heart always. No matter where our journeys lead us. And the most recent healer I have met on this path John- you have an amazing gift of healing. There are no words that can fully express my gratitude. Mostly, I am grateful to God, who has given me wings to fly. Yes, my intentions have changed, Though Patches and I will not likely work as travelers again I do want to see and experience all of this beauty I can, right here, for now, it is my home. Arizona continues to captivate me. I love the sound, the smell, the feel of nature, and I get out to experience it as much as I can. My intention is one of healing, teaching, learning and living.
